The Las Vegas Raiders have announced a new requirement to watch a game at Allegiant Stadium- everyone needs to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Attendees can verify their status by downloading CLEAR, a free app that stores health data.
The new policy goes into effect immediately, well before the team's first regular-season game on September 13.
Now, here's the good news.
If you're fully vaccinated, you no longer need to wear a mask. For many fans, the tradeoff is worth it.
“Health and safety has always been our number one priority,” Raiders owner Mark Davis said. “After consultation with Governor Sisolak and other community leaders, this policy ensures that we will be able to operate at full capacity without masks for fully vaccinated fans for the entire season.”
It's not all bad news if you show up to the game without getting the jab. The Raiders plan to set up an on-site vaccination clinic. Newly vaccinated fans can watch the game with a mask on.
“If somebody comes to the game and they have a ticket and are unaware of the mandate to be vaccinated, we will have the ability to vaccinate them in the parking lot,” Davis said.
